Lions upset BYU behind Ireland's career high

LMU upset BYU tonight 82-68 to hand the Cougars their first conference home loss in WCC play. The Lions improve to 4-2 while the Cougars drop to 5-2. Sophomore guard Anthony Ireland contributed a career-high 27 points, going 12-14 from the free throw line to secure the victory late in the second half.

BYU led early in the contest, but never in the second period. LMU held the home team to just 2-25 from behind the arc, while knocking down seven three-pointers of their own. All four of LMU's conference victories now come on the road.

Drew Viney was a very economical 7-11 from the field, good enough for 21 points, while also pulling down six rebounds. LMU also received 12 points from senior LaRon Armstead. The Lions were once again without Jarred DuBois, who is out due to injury.

LMU will now have a rare Monday conference game, when they take on Santa Clara next week.
